2022 JH Baseball Player Information
● Tryouts will take place Monday, August 1st, and Tuesday, August 2nd,
○ 7th and 8th graders 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm (Rochester Park, 90 Wild Rose Lane on the Marshall Bell Field)
● Players will be notified via email Wednesday, August 3rd by 10:00 a.m. if they were or were not selected for the team.
● Practices will begin Wednesday, August 3rd. They will be held from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, then from 10:00am-noon on Saturday, August 6th. A schedule will be given for the remainder of the month after the first week.
● Players must have a current physical to participate in tryouts/practice. If you are not sure, please contact Mrs. Powless at the Junior High School spowless@rochester3a.net or 217-498-9761. If we do not have a copy of your son’s physical at the time of tryouts he will not be able to try out for the team.
● Parents will need to register players on the Rschool website prior to tryouts, RSchool registration information.
● If a potential player cannot attend tryouts he will not be considered for our team.
● Please take the time to consider any travel plans you may make for the end of the summer, we have a short season, and it is important that every player attends all practices and games.
● Please ensure your son is properly dressed for tryouts/practice as in baseball pants.
● Bring tennis shoes if we have to be inside due to the weather.
● Players will need to bring their own water to tryouts and practices.
● Once we have the roster set there will be a $75 athletic fee for each player.
