Molly Edmonds voted to be new superintendent of Rochester Schools

November 12, 2025 | Rochester, IL — The Rochester Community Unit School District #3A Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Molly Edmonds as the next Superintendent of Schools. Mrs. Edmonds will officially assume her new role on July 1, 2026.

Following a comprehensive search process facilitated by Student-Centered Services, the Board selected Mrs. Edmonds for her proven record of leadership, collaboration, and dedication to student success.

"We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Edmonds to the Rochester Rocket family," said Amy Reynolds, President of the Board of Education. "Her proven track record of improving student outcomes and her collaborative leadership style align perfectly with our district's vision and goals. Mrs. Edmonds currently serves as Superintendent of Pawnee CUSD #11. Her career includes leadership roles as the high school principal at North Mac CUSD #34, principal at the Capital Area Career Center in Springfield, and Director of Student Care for the Illinois State Board of Education. She has also served as the Deputy Director of Education for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and as an elementary school principal in Washington, Illinois.

A native of the Pittsfield, Illinois area, Mrs. Edmonds holds a Bachelor of Arts from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale, an Early Childhood certification from the University of Houston, a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University, and an Education Specialist degree from the University of Illinois – Springfield.
