Veterans Day

We're eager to celebrate all veterans, including local veterans, at RIS on November 11th at 9:00 AM.  If you are a veteran, we would love to welcome you to a special event on Friday November 11 at RIS Gymnasium.  We will be introducing our Veterans, have patriotic musical numbers performed by our Band and will be saluting our Veterans with the singing of the various Service Hymns, and other military salutes and remembrances.  Also if you have family members currently serving, please let us know this as well.  We will be creating and sending messages of heartfelt thanks and hand-written notes from students to our troops.  We can mail them directly to the veteran if you'd like to include a mailing address, or we can package up the note or notes with your child so they can bring them home to you and you can distribute them.  To send/receive a note, please complete this form by Wednesday, November 9, 2022.  This form will close at noon on Wednesday, November 9th, to allow our students time to craft their notes and office staff time for distribution/mailing.

*On the day of the event (November 11, 2022), we ask:

  • For planning purposes and to be able to comfortably accommodate our guests, we do ask each party to limit the number of visitors to 2 additional guests.

  • We ask all Guests to please park in the North Parking Lot (off Buckhart Road) and enter the gym via the sidewalk at the Northeast end of the Building.

  • Please do not arrive before 8:30 AM since this is the primary Bus Drop Off Zone for RIS.

Hazel Health

We want to make sure every student has the option to access our student health services from day one.  Be sure to take part in our Consent for Care Drive by signing the form at my.hazel.co/rochester3a.  If you have already completed the form, thank you!

Why sign up?

When students are not feeling well, they often miss more school when they can’t see a doctor.  We are making doctor visits available to all students through Hazel, so they can receive medical care and return to learning faster.  Wondering whether your child has allergies or a potential flu?  Your child says they have a headache that just won’t go away, and you’re not sure whether it’s serious?  Will you need to leave work to drop off medicine at school?

Hazel can help by providing HIPAA-compliant video doctor visits through your school nurse’s office or from home.  Hazel is a trusted resource for extended student health services, including:

  • Medical treatment: For stomach aches, headaches, sprained ankles, asthma concerns, and everything in between

  • Medication: Prescriptions written or over-the-counter provided at school when needed

  • Coordination: With family physician and school

Sign the form at this link now to be prepared for student health this school year: my.hazel.co/rochester3a

Parents who are unable to sign the form today can still sign up at any time during the school year.  We encourage you to do this early, so you are prepared for student health this year.
