Good morning! We're so excited to host the wonderful (formerly Winter) Carnival put on by PTO tonight! Due to the weather forecast, which includes relatively high winds for our bounce houses, the event will be indoors at the RIS campus tonight. We'll be here 6pm-8pm, and all ticket sales are at the door. Please note that tickets will be cash-only, $5 per child, at either the front or gym entrance (off Buckhart Road). Parking will be available in either school lot. Please use caution when driving in the parking lot. No outside food or beverages will be allowed into the event, and because of the large attendance we're predicting, it would probably be wise to have students leave bags, purses, etc., in your locked vehicles or at home. If your child is going to participate in the bounce house, you'll want to be sure that they have on socks and perhaps easy on/off shoes. We'll also have a cake-walk, a DJ, a Jazz Band performance in the cafeteria at 6pm, and face painting.
You may want to bring some extra spending cash to the event. We'll have vendors selling food (Razzo's pizza, tacos from Azteca, and Kona ices); the PTO is selling bottled water and freshly-popped popcorn; and we'll have our famous RIS Student Council suckers in 11 flavors. We're raffling off amazing baskets created by homerooms using tickets that can be purchased for chances to win. In addition, we'll have a silent auction featuring homeroom-created art. We're so impressed with what our homerooms have put together!
Thank you to our staff, homerooms, parents, PTO, Wrestling Moms, Football Moms, Rochester Fine Arts Department, Student Council, Rochester Custodial & Maintainence staff, clubs at RHS (including Art Club, NHS, Club U, and our Big Buddies), and local businesses and organizations for helping us to put on this awesome event! We can't wait!
