If you need a loaner chromebook, please visit the Tech Office before 8:30am. 

It is important to remember your chromebook daily and to bring it charged and ready for class.  Please carry your chargers in your case so if your battery gets low at the end of the day you can charge it.  We are seeing more students for loaners everyday and only have a limited number of chromebooks.  

All band classes and band lessons with Mrs. Parker are canceled for today.

Fifth Grade Chorus:

The Constitution Cast list, rehearsal schedules, and production script are all now posted on the Fifth Grade Chorus Canvas page. Rehearsals begin today for specific characters from 3:15-5:00 PM. The rehearsal schedule is posted all the way up through production day (April 13th!     

Parents of students who are to stay tonight have been called. Please check the rehearsal groups and other lists on Canvas!

Bus Announcements

**Students who ride the bus need to make sure to have all of their belongings before leaving the building and getting on the bus.  You will not be allowed to re-enter the building.**

2022-2023 RIS yearbook is now on sale!  Click this link for more information!!

Time to purchase your tickets for the Spring musical, ANYTHING GOES!  All seats are reserved and can only be purchased online at this link TICKETS  Shows are Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 12 at 2 p.m.  All shows will be presented in the Rochester Fine Arts auditorium.  

All Fourth Grade students will be presenting a music, drama and dance performance of "Gold Rush" the Story of the pioneers who headed to the California Goldfield in 1849-1852. Students will learn a basic dance combination  and we'll audition kids on March 4-8!  Auditions are optional (students do NOT have to audition for the speaking/acting or dancing parts)

The Big Show will be performed live on March 16th at

2:00 P.M. in the RIS Gymnasium!

PTO

The RIS PTO will hold its next monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 14 at 7 p.m. via Zoom. We will be planning the Spring Carnival at this meeting. All are welcome to attend. A full list of upcoming meetings can be found here

SAVE THE DATES!  Performing Arts Summer Camps are returning to Rochester!  PAC@ROCHESTER will hold three week long camps this year instead of two camps.  Mark your calendar for the weeks of July 10, 17 & 24.  Plan to attend one, two or all three camps!   Registration will begin in late March.  Please email Mr. Bauser with any questions at bbauser@rochester3a.net  Initial registration will be for Rochester School District students first before opening registration to the general public.    

Rochester School Band Families

 We need your help to make all the pizzas you sold!  Please join us this Saturday, at 8am at Rochester United Methodist Church (555 S Walnut St) and bring a ball cap to build pizzas!  Band students/families will deliver pizzas, no direct customer pick-up will happen.  If you aren't able to build pizzas, please come about 10:30-11am to pick them up for delivery.  We cannot store pizzas, they must be picked up. Transportation Changes

All transportation changes must be submitted to the office no later than 2:00pm.  Please call the office at 217-498-6215 or email your changes to Mrs. Howie at chowie@rochester3a.net or Mrs. Lovett at clovett@rochester3a.net.  Any request for transportation changes past 2:00 pm cannot be accepted.  Thank you for your cooperation!

Parent Pick-up:

As a reminder, for parent pick-up at the end of the day, all parents should remain in their vehicles and follow the pick-up line around and to the front of the building.  Please do not park in the parking spaces in order to pick up your child.  Thank you for your help with this!

Lunch Balances

The low lunch balance alerts have been reactivated for all families.  You will get an alert when your lunch balance is below $5.00.  If you choose to shut off the alert, you will no longer get any school announcements.
