DOUBLE BUS ROUTES, 10-17-22

RHS riders on Busses #7, #10 and #19 please wait in the HS cafeteria after school until your shuttle bus arrives to pick you up and take you home. PLEASE DIRECT ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING LATE BUSES TO THE BUS GARAGE. THEY CAN BE REACHED AT (217) 498-9834.

 

DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS CLUB

CROSS COUNTRY RESULTS

This weekend the Cross Country team competed in the CS8 Conference Championship.  The girls put four runners in the Top 10 including Conference Champion Colleen Zeibert and won the meet upsetting favorite Glenwood.   Ashley Zeibert, Natalie Nichols and Brooke Zeibert had all conference honors. Myra Gibson had conference honorable mention.  Ella Kieffer and Addi Schmedeke also earned varsity spots. The boys team finished fifth behind junior Jack Arends who earned conference honorable mention.  Ryan Hardy, Parker Edmonson, Ammon Hardy, Jayden Herren, Jack Armbruster, and Wyatt Gustafson also earned varsity spots.   Congratulations to all who competed!

 

GIRLS TENNIS RESULTS

Congratulations to Julia Musgrave who qualified to play at the State Tennis Tournament in Buffalo Grove on October 20-22!

 

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

ART CLUB MEETING

There will be an Art Club Meeting TODAY, Monday, October 17 at 3:15 p.m. in Mrs. Bell’s room (Room 1129).

 

FALL CHORAL CONCERT

Please come hear the choirs sing at the Fall Choral Concert on Tuesday, October 18 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.  The Junior High Concert begins at 6:00 p.m. and features the 7th Grade Chorus, 8th Grade Chorus, Jr. High Jazz Choir, and Combined Choirs.  There will also be a preview from the cast of the Jr. High Musical, INTO THE WOODS, JR.  The Senior High Concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and features the Concert Choir and Madrigals.  The concert will conclude with the announcement of the Spring musical.  Come out and support the Rochester Choral Music Department!

 

BOYS GOLF TEAM

The Boys Golf Team needs to turn in their orange team polo shirts on Tuesday, October 18 during Rocket Time in the HS Commons.

 

SOCIAL JUSTICE CLUB INFO

There will be a Social Justice Club Meeting this Wednesday, October 19 from 3:15-3:45 p.m. in Ms. Mayer’s Room (Room 3103). If you are interested in joining the Social Justice Club, please fill out this form

 

WRESTLING PARENT MEETING

There will be a Parent Meeting for those students who are interested in Wrestling on Wednesday, October 19 at 5:30 p.m. in the HS Commons.

 

ROCKET FOOD DRIVE

Team up with the Rockets and Channel 1450 for the Annual Stuff the Trailer Food Drive, join us in collecting items, October 14-21. INFORMATION NEEDED TO PARTICIPATE!

ROCKET COLOR BLAST 5K JUNIOR PROM FUNDRAISER 

LATE REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

If you would like to still participate in the Rocket Color Blast 5k but missed the sign up you can still participate!  Register using the google form below and please bring $20 (exact change or check made out to RHS Junior Class) to the High School Student services drop box by the end of the day on Wednesday, October 19. JH ROCKET APPAREL FUNDRAISER

The Rochester Junior High is having their annual fundraiser.  They will be selling Rocket apparel until October 23, please click the attached link to order, JH Rocket Apparel Link.

 

ROCKET RALLY - OCTOBER 26

Are you ready for the Rocket Rally on Oct 26!!  If you are, please come out wearing your pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it’s going to be a Pink Out Wednesday! For this assembly we need your nominations on who’s been Respectful and Optimistic. Students can nominate a student or teacher who they feel has been respectful and optimistic (nominations open October 11 and close October 14), please use the link Ms. Wagner or Mrs. Hawkins emailed to you. Also, bring your spare change to the rally to add to your grade level bucket. So, we challenge YOU to try and collect money. We will donate this rallys total to a breast cancer charity.  Whichever grade comes up with the most money WINS! Let’s see who gets bragging rights!

 

ESSAY CONTEST

The Rochester VFW post is sponsoring the Voice of Democracy Audio Essay Contest.  There are scholarship prizes available at the post, district, state and national level.  Please see Mr. Fitzgerald for entry information, with audio essays due on October 31.  

 

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES - 11/2/22

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held again for RHS on Wednesday, November 2 from 3:30 - 8:30 p.m. Conferences will be held VIRTUALLY this fall. Parents should use their Skyward Family Access to schedule 15-minute virtual appointments with their student’s teachers that they would like to visit with through our video conferencing platform.  After scheduling your conference(s), parents will be sent a link by the teacher for each meeting via their email. LOW LUNCH BALANCE ALERTS

The low lunch balance alerts have been reactivated for all families.  You will get an alert when your lunch balance is below $5.00.  If you choose to shut off the alert, you will no longer get any school announcements.

 

DOCTORS NOTES

Please make sure that doctor’s notes are being brought to Mrs. Lessman in Student Services after the appointment.  The note will change that absence in Skyward from a parent excuse - AE to a doctor excused absence - AD.  Students are only allowed 6 AE absences in a school year. After 6 excused absences they will be counted as unexcused absences- UU.  Please contact Mrs. Lessman in Student Services if you have questions.

 

PARKING

Please make sure you are parking in the correct parking spot.  If you park in the wrong spot, it causes a chain reaction of students not being able to park in their assigned spot.  Also, if you are driving to school, you must have a parking sticker posted in your vehicle.  Please contact Mrs. Tucker in the Principal’s Office to purchase a sticker.

BOYS BASKETBALL ANNOUNCEMENT

Community open gyms will be held every Wednesday from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the RAC.  If you have any questions, please contact Coach Gavin at tgavin@inb.com

 

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENT

If your student plans to participate in one of our upcoming sports seasons, please visit RHS RSchool to register your athlete.  We will also need an updated physical on file.  Don’t forget to subscribe to “notify me” for your child’s sport, this allows you to get automatic notifications of any schedule changes. If you need to check your child’s physical date or have any questions about the registration process, please contact Kim Hauck at khauck@rochester3a.net.
