GIRLS GOLF TEAM RESULTS
Both Kiley Torres and Isabel Tom qualified for the State Finals Tournament this past weekend and made the cut to play on Day 2! The girls two day total - Kiley Torres 82 - 88 = 170 (tied for 43rd) and Isabel Tom 91 - 84 = 175 (tied for 51st). Congratulations on a great end to a fantastic season for Rocket Girls Golf!
ESSAY CONTEST
The Rochester VFW post is sponsoring the Voice of Democracy Audio Essay Contest. There are scholarship prizes available at the post, district, state and national level. Please see Mr. Fitzgerald for entry information, with audio essays due on October 31.
ROCKET COLOR BLAST 5K JUNIOR PROM FUNDRAISER
LATE REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
If you would like to still participate in the Rocket Color Blast 5k but missed the sign up you can still participate! Register using the google form below and please bring $20 (exact change or check made out to RHS Junior Class) to the High School Student services drop box by the end of the day on Wednesday, October 19. PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES - 10/12/22 & 11/2/22
Parent/Teacher Conference sign-up for tomorrow, October 12 will close at 4:00 p.m. TODAY. After that time, if you still need to sign up for a time to meet with a specific teacher for 10/12, you can call Sue Tucker at 217-498-9761, Ext. 3235 and she can assist you. Parents should use their Skyward Family Access to schedule 15-minute virtual appointments with their student’s teachers that they would like to visit with through our video conferencing platform. After scheduling your conference(s), parents will be sent a link by the teacher for each meeting via their email. Directions on how to schedule a conference can be found here. Sign up for the other date will reopen on 10/13.
SENIOR COOKOUT
Seniors - We will be having a Senior Class Cookout on Friday, October 14 to celebrate the end of 1st Quarter! Seniors will be able to pick up lunch during their regular lunch period. We hope to see everyone during lunch on Friday!

HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH FACT OF THE DAY
Hispanic Heritage Month starts on September 15th as it marks the independence day celebration of five Central American countries from Spain in 1821, being Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. The month also contains the independence days for Mexico (Sep 16, 1810), Chile (Sep 18, 1810), and Belize (Sep 21, 1981).

LOW LUNCH BALANCE ALERTS
The low lunch balance alerts have been reactivated for all families. You will get an alert when your lunch balance is below $5.00. If you choose to shut off the alert, you will no longer get any school announcements.
DOCTORS NOTES
Please make sure that doctor’s notes are being brought to Mrs. Lessman in Student Services after the appointment. The note will change that absence in Skyward from a parent excuse - AE to a doctor excused absence - AD. Students are only allowed 6 AE absences in a school year. After 6 excused absences they will be counted as unexcused absences- UU. Please contact Mrs. Lessman in Student Services if you have questions.
PARKING
Please make sure you are parking in the correct parking spot. If you park in the wrong spot, it causes a chain reaction of students not being able to park in their assigned spot. Also, if you are driving to school, you must have a parking sticker posted in your vehicle. Please contact Mrs. Tucker in the Principal’s Office to purchase a sticker.

If your student plans to participate in one of our upcoming sports seasons, please visit RHS RSchool to register your athlete. We will also need an updated physical on file. Don’t forget to subscribe to “notify me” for your child’s sport, this allows you to get automatic notifications of any schedule changes.
