DOUBLE BUS ROUTES, 9-21-22

RHS riders on Busses #7 and #19  please wait in the HS cafeteria until your shuttle bus comes to pick you up and take you home. PLEASE DIRECT ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING LATE BUSES TO THE BUS GARAGE. THEY CAN BE REACHED AT (217) 498-9834.

 

LEARNING COMMONS ANNOUNCEMENT

The Learning Commons will be closed today during 4th and 5th blocks.  If you need to check out a book or use the student printer please do so before the end of 3rd block. 

 

FRIDAY - 9/23/22 - SIP DAY - EARLY DISMISSAL TIMES

CACC Students will dismiss at 10:00 a.m.

College Now Students will dismiss at 11:15 a.m.

High School Students will be dismissed at 12:15 p.m.

 

INFO FOR RHS VS. GLENWOOD FOOTBALL - FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 23

  • Elementary/Intermediate students will not be admitted to the game without a parent or adult.

  • Junior High students must be prepared to show an ID to enter the game.

  • Footballs are not allowed inside the stadium.  All balls will be confiscated.

  • There will be no re-entry for students in grades K through 12.

  • Open containers/Yeti mugs are not allowed inside the stadium.

  • Tailgating is allowed, but only on either the far east end of the parking lot (near the tree line) or the far west end (by the tennis courts).

  • The main parking lot will open at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.  Auxiliary parking (behind the baseball field) will open at 4:30 p.m.

 

FCA MEETING

FCA Meeting this Sunday, September 25 at 4:30 p.m. in the RAC for any high school student wanting to attend.

GENERAL INFORMATION

FINANCIAL AID NIGHT

SENIORS - Class of 2022 Financial Aid Night will be held this Wednesday, September 21 at 6:00 p.m. in the High School Library.  Attendees may enter through the Student Services entrance.

 

HS PICTURE RE-TAKE DAY

If students had pictures taken, those pictures will be sent home on Tuesday or Wednesday.  There will be a Picture Make-Up and Re-Take Day on Monday, September 26.  You can order retake photos online at the following link:  Interstate Ordering Link and enter the code: 71980FF.  If you purchased and were unhappy with your Picture, please send your Picture Package to school with your student on Retake Day. Your Retakes will be produced and shipped to the school 4 weeks after Retake Day.  Students who were absent for Picture Day should come to school prepared to have their picture taken. FOOTBALL TICKETS

Please visit ONLINE FOOTBALL TICKETS to purchase tickets for this week's football game against Glenwood on Friday, September 23.  Online sales will be open until noon on Friday.  Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and you will still be able to purchase tickets at the gate.  Tickets are $5 for adults and Rochester students are free with their Student ID.  If you have any questions please contact Kim Hauck at khauck@rochester3a.net.

 

TENNIS APPAREL PICKUP INFORMATION

The Rochester Tennis Apparel pickup will be this Wednesday (9/21) and Thursday (9/22) at the tennis courts from 4:30-6:00 p.m. If other arrangements need to be made, please email Kara Gray at kara.gray@comcast.net.

 

ATTENTION JUNIORS AND SENIORS:

RHS will be offering the chance for Senior and Junior students to attend the Capital Area Education Fair (CAEF) on October 5 from approximately 8:30-10:30 a.m. The fair is located at the Orr Building on the Illinois State Fairgrounds and is an excellent opportunity for you to talk to different representatives and gather information about specific Colleges/Military/Trade Schools. (This will not conflict with the RHS Career Series – that has been moved to October 6). If you are interested in attending, you can pick up a permission slip from Mrs. Schudel in Student Services. All permission slips must be returned by this Thursday, September 22. Attendance will be first come first serve!

 

CHEMISTRY CLUB

If you are interested in joining Chem Club, please see or email Mrs. Peters, speters@rochester3a.net. You do not have to be currently enrolled in Chemistry to join. 


PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES - 9/28/22, 10/12/22 & 11/2/22

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held for RHS on Wednesday, September 28, Wednesday, October 12 and Wednesday, November 2 from 3:30 - 8:30 p.m. Conferences will be held VIRTUALLY this fall. Parents should use their Skyward Family Access to schedule 15-minute virtual appointments with their student’s teachers that they would like to visit with through our video conferencing platform.  After scheduling your conference(s), parents will be sent a link by the teacher for each meeting via their email. 2ND ANNUAL ROCKET COLOR BLAST 5K -

RHS JR. CLASS PROM 2023 FUNDRAISER 

Please help the RHS Junior Class raise money for this year's Prom by participating in The 2nd Annual Rocket Color Blast 5k Fun Run/Walk on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Rochester Community Park! SCIENCE OLYMPIAD

Planning for this year's 2023 Science Olympiad is underway! The Regional Science Olympiad Tournament will be in person this year during February. If you are interested in participating in this year's event, please send an email to Mrs. Godar or Mrs. Goad.

 

CHESS CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT

The Chess Club is starting up with weekly meetings every Wednesday morning in the HS Commons at 7:15 a.m.  Players of all skill levels and experience are welcome. Other board games besides Chess are also available, so come and play some games!

Art Club will begin soon! 21-22 YEARBOOK PICK UP INFORMATION

If you are a 2022 graduate and did not pick up your 21-22 yearbook, please contact Mrs. Tucker at stucker@rochester3a.net or 217-498-9761, Ext. 3235 to schedule a pickup time.

 

CLUB U INFORMATION

Club U is a student community service club where your community service hours are kept in a database and reports are provided to you for college applications, National Honor Society and college scholarships. If you are interested in joining Club U or need more information, please send Mrs. Powell an email and she will add you to the Club U Canvas Page.

 

LOW LUNCH BALANCE ALERTS

The low lunch balance alerts have been reactivated for all families.  You will get an alert when your lunch balance is below $5.00.  If you choose to shut off the alert, you will no longer get any school announcements.

 

DOCTORS NOTES

Please make sure that doctor’s notes are being brought to Mrs. Lessman in Student Services after the appointment.  The note will change that absence in Skyward from a parent excuse - AE to a doctor excused absence - AD.  Students are only allowed 6 AE absences in a school year. After 6 excused absences they will be counted as unexcused absences- UU.  Please contact Mrs. Lessman in Student Services if you have questions.

 

PARKING

Please make sure you are parking in the correct parking spot.  If you park in the wrong spot, it causes a chain reaction of students not being able to park in their assigned spot.  Also, if you are driving to school, you must have a parking sticker posted in your vehicle.  Please contact Mrs. Tucker in the Principal’s Office to purchase a sticker.

BOYS BASKETBALL ANNOUNCEMENT

Community open gyms will be held every Wednesday from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the RAC.  If you have any questions, please contact Coach Gavin at tgavin@inb.com

 

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENT

If your student plans to participate in one of our upcoming sports seasons, please visit RHS RSchool to register your athlete.  We will also need an updated physical on file.  Don’t forget to subscribe to “notify me” for your child’s sport, this allows you to get automatic notifications of any schedule changes. If you need to check your child’s physical date or have any questions about the registration process, please contact Kim Hauck at khauck@rochester3a.net.
