BOYS BASKETBALL ANNOUNCEMENT

Community open gyms will be held every Wednesday from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the RAC.  If you have any questions, please contact Coach Gavin at tgavin@inb.com

 

FOOTBALL TICKETS

Tickets for the Rochester at SHG football game on Friday, August 26 will be pre-sold in the RHS Athletic Office on Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.  Tickets can also be purchased at the gate at SHG on Friday evening.  Kickoff on Friday night is at 7:00 p.m.  Ticket Prices - Adult $5.00 and Seniors/Students - $3.00.  TEACHERS/STUDENTS - Reminder that students are not to be dismissed from class to purchase tickets.  They may do so at the following times:  before school, during their lunch hour, and during passing periods.

 

ATTENTION ALL RHS SENIORS!

Your senior portrait is due at the end of August. Please contact Ed Clark Photography - at (217) 496-3686 - to make an appointment to have your portrait taken. If you have already taken the portrait at the studio, select the image you want by the end of August. If a selection has not been made, their studio will choose which photo goes into the yearbook.

 

YEARBOOK PICK UP INFORMATION

Attention, RHS Students in grades 12, 11, and 10

The 2021-2022 RHS Rocket Yearbooks are here! If you ordered a yearbook last year you will pick it up in the BACK of the AUDITORIUM on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 2 during Rocket Time. Please listen for the announcement for your class to be called to the Auditorium. Freshmen, do not report to the auditorium. We do not have your JH book. Last year's RHS Graduates will pick up yearbooks from 3:30-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 1 at the back of the school by the band room doors. Park in the back of the building and see the person at the desk. If a graduate cannot be there to pick up the book, a family member or friend may sign for it. NO other books for underclassmen will be handed out at this time. See the attached letter with directions for Graduate Yearbook pick up.

HS OPEN HOUSE

TONIGHT, August 24, we will host our annual High School Open House/Curriculum Night.  It will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m.  Parents and staff will gather in the Auditorium.  Following the large group meeting, you will get the opportunity to attend an 8-minute “snapshot” from your son’s/daughter’s schedule for both “A” and “B” days.  Please bring your student’s schedule and we will have campus maps available. If you do not have access to your student’s schedule we will have schedules available from 5:30 - 6:00 pm in the auditorium lobby.

CLASS OFFICER ELECTIONS - APPLICATIONS DUE 8/29/22

Are you interested in a position as a class officer?  Please fill out the application and return to the appropriate teacher by 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 29.  Possible positions include: President, Vice President, Secretary, or Treasurer. Completed forms are due August 29!  Class Officer Application

 

LEONARD BOWL T-SHIRT PICK-UP Pick up of pre-orders of Leonard Bowl shirts will be available from Mrs. Hawkins until Thursday.  We have no extras until Thursday.  Final pick up of pre-orders and sale of extra shirts will be available at the Blue Ridge Club on Thursday, August 25 from 5-6 p.m.

 

CLUB U INFORMATION

Club U is a student community service club where your community service hours are kept in a database and reports are provided to you for college applications, National Honor Society and college scholarships. If you are interested in joining Club U or need more information, please send Mrs. Powell an email and she will add you to the Club U Canvas Page.

 

RHS HOMECOMING PARADE

This year’s Rochester High School Homecoming Parade will be on Wednesday, September 14 at 5:30 p.m. The parade will start at the Rochester Baptist Church on State Street, will turn left on Main Street, and turn right on North Walnut and will end in the back parking lot at the high school. This year’s theme is “Breakfast Cereals”. If you are interested in participating in the parade or need additional information, please contact Deena Powell at (217) 498-9761, Ext. 3122 during the school day or you can email at dpowell@rochester3a.net. Parade entries should fill out a form at this link, Entry Form.  All parade entries need to have adult supervision and will not include political entries. We would love to see area businesses participate in our parade! There will be monetary prizes for the best parade entries that follow the parade theme displaying school spirit. (Businesses are not eligible for prizes)

 

SPANISH CLUB INFORMATION

The Spanish Club is back this year! If you are interested in joining, please fill out this form and turn in your $5 dues to Senorita Miller by September 2. If you have any questions, please see Sra Veenstra or Srta Miller. You do NOT need to be in Spanish class to join the Spanish Club.

 

PARKING

Please make sure you are parking in the correct parking spot.  If you park in the wrong spot, it causes a chain reaction of students not being able to park in their assigned spot.  Also, if you are driving to school, you must have a parking sticker posted in your vehicle.  Please contact Mrs. Tucker in the Principal’s Office to purchase a sticker.

Rochester Athletic Boosters are excited to offer concessions for fall sports and they need your help, please sign up today!  The funds raised go directly back into our Athletic programs to support student athletes.  We encourage students to help and give back to Rochester, so please sign up through the Student link.  Parents, please click the link for the sport you wish to help.  Thank you in advance for your support of Rochester Athletic Boosters!

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENT

If your student plans to participate in one of our upcoming sports seasons, please visit RHS RSchool to register your athlete.  We will also need an updated physical on file.  Don’t forget to subscribe to “notify me” for your child’s sport, this allows you to get automatic notifications of any schedule changes. If you need to check your child’s physical date or have any questions about the registration process, please contact Kim Hauck at khauck@rochester3a.net.
