Parents, please take a few minutes to complete the 5Essentials Survey for RHS.  This is a survey given by the Illinois State Board of Education.

EASTER EGG ORDERING INFO

It's time to order your candy filled Easter Eggs!!   The boys basketball team will deliver candy filled eggs on Saturday, March 30.  Prices are 100 eggs $50, 50 eggs $30 and 25 eggs $15.  Please order before Sunday, March 24.  The link to order:  2024 Easter Egg Delivery.

RHS COLOR GUARD TRYOUTS

Calling all current 8th-11th graders!  The RHS Color Guard is holding their annual tryouts March 26-28 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. in the High School MPR. If you are interested in learning a new skill and performing for your school and community join us! If you were inducted into the Spanish National Honor Society last year, or are eligible to be inducted this year, you should have received an email form Srta. Miller. If you did not receive an email and believe you should have, please contact her by no later than Wednesday, March 13. If you have any additional questions, please reach out to Srta. Miller or Sra. We have reached the Elite Eight round of March Madness Library Style.  Please help us determine the Final Four round of books by voting on the google form linked below.

RHS BLOOD DRIVE INFORMATION

Keep up the GREAT work Rockets! We only have 5 more slots for the Blood Drive, with times available on Friday, March 15. Times available are during B4 (1:30, 1:35) and B5 (2:45, 2:50, 3:00).  Students who participate can earn NHS and Club U Hours! AND will be eligible for a gift card, or t-shirt! Students and staff can participate during their PE classes and Rocket Time. Students MUST be 16 years of age or older to donate. Students who are 16 will need parent/guardian permission forms completed before donating. Forms can be turned in to Mrs. Hawkins or Mrs. Schneider. Consent Form Impact Life

This drive is not open to the community, but community members can visit ImpactLife to find a location and event nearby! Any community member who donates between March 15-22 and notes Rochester HS, will receive credit toward our Lifesaving Grant. COMMUNITY EGG HUNT

Rochester Estates invites you to their Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt.  The hunt takes place on Saturday, March 23 at Rochester Estates in Rochester.  The Easter Egg Hunt starts at 10:00 a.m. and will be divided between age groups.  There will be prizes and pictures with the Easter Bunny. Also, Rochester Estates is asking for candy or small treat donations to be used for filling the eggs.  Donations can be dropped off at Rochester High School (Attention - Amy Staley) or brought by students to Room 1097.  Informational Flyer

PSAT & SAT TESTING INFO

RHS will be administering the PSAT 9, PSAT 10 and SAT on Wednesday, April 10.  All freshmen, sophomores and juniors will test that day.  Students will need to bring their fully charged Chromebooks to school.  Cell phones and any other electronic devices will not be allowed in the testing rooms.  Additional communication will be shared via email at a later date.

LLCC REGISTRATION

SENIORS: If you plan to attend LLCC in the Fall, please RSVP for the Annual Registration Prep Day on Thursday, April 18.  Please check your school email for more information and the link to RSVP.

GREECE TRIP

There is still room and time to sign up for the upcoming Greece trip. Students, parents, and friends are welcome to travel on this Educational Tour during July 2024.  The deadline to sign up and pay is March 27! If the opportunity interests you, please email either Ms. Bilyeu or Ms. Wycoff for more information soon!

The Central Illinois STEM Fair planning committee is looking for parent volunteers to help with running this annual event.  No experience necessary!  Please email rochesterstemfair@gmail.com if interested.

SENIORS: The Rochester Youth Athletic Association (RYAA) is pleased to announce the annual Scholarship Application for 2024 is open now through Friday April 12, 2024.   Apply here.  Please email scholarship@ryaasports.org with any questions. 

COLLEGE NOW ANNOUNCEMENT

College Now students operate on the LLCC Schedule. This means that Spring Recess follows the LLCC schedule (class meetings happen during the schools' spring breaks if they do not coincide with LLCC's) and closings (class cancellations) also follow the LLCC schedule. If LLCC is open, classes meet, regardless of what is happening in the Rochester School District. LLCC weather closing announcements are available at www.llcc.edu.  Students are welcome to join our LLCC Alert system for emergency notifications. RHS PTO INFORMATION

HS Teachers need your help, kleenex and Clorox wipes are needed now to help us get through the cold and flu season!  You can make a donation at PayPal - (RHS PTO @rhsrocketspto) , you can visit our Amazon Wish List at RHS PTO Wish List or you can drop off donations at Student Services. The money collected helps buy supplies for the school and helps provide meals for Parent/Teacher conferences and treats during Teacher Appreciation Week. Any donation is greatly appreciated! 

PARKING

If you plan on driving a vehicle to school this year, you must fill out the parking survey and pay the parking fee.  If you have not already completed the survey, please do so ASAP, Rochester HS Parking Survey. Please make sure you are parking in the correct parking spot.  Also, all students that park in the back lot will be required to enter through the MPR doors.  Students should not be entering any of the other doors on the back side of the HS.  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Tucker in the Principal’s Office.

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENT

If your student plans to participate in one of our upcoming sports seasons, please visit Athletic Registration to register your athlete.  Please go under the 'more' tab and choose athletic registration.  We will also need an updated physical on file.  Don’t forget to subscribe to “notify me” for your child’s sport, this allows you to get automatic notifications of any schedule changes. If you need to check your child’s physical date or have any questions about the registration process, please contact Kim Hauck at khauck@rochester3a.net.
