NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

CANCELED - HALLOWEEN COLOR BLAST 5K 

We regret to inform you that the Junior Class Halloween Color Blast 5k Fundraiser, initially planned to take place on Sunday, October 29 has been CANCELED. Due to low interest numbers we will be canceling this event and refunding all those that had already registered. Please direct any questions or concerns to Junior Class Co-Sponsors Alexandra Gunter (agunter@rochester3.net) or Olivia Seitz (oseitz@rochester3a.net).


SCIENCE OLYMPIAD MEETINGS

Science Olympiad Members and any other students interested should meet in Mrs. Godar’s Room (3162) TODAY, Wednesday, October 18 and Thursday, October 19 during Rocket Time!


JUNIORS & SENIORS ANNOUNCEMENT

The annual Building Trades Career Day is on November 14.  If you are interested in attending, permission forms are available with Mrs. Schudel in Student Services.  Permission forms are due back November 3.


BOYS BASKETBALL PARENT MEETING

There will be a Mandatory Boys Basketball Parent Meeting on Wednesday, November 1 at 7:00 p.m. in the RAC.


CONCESSION HELP NEEDED

We are hosting the HS Soccer Sectionals and we need your help in concessions!  Please sign up and get volunteer hours for Club U!  Student Concession Sign up - Fall Sports

Routes 4 and Bus 5 are being picked up by Bus 12 at dismissal 

Route 12 is loading with Bus 2 at dismissal

Doubles for Today 

Route 23 (outside of the early neighborhoods) will be run by Bus 22 

Routes 20/3 will be run by Bus 2 



GENERAL INFORMATION

FALL CHORAL CONCERT

The Fall Choral Concert will be held TONIGHT Wednesday, October 18 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Free admission! The Concert begins at 6:00 p.m. and will last approximately 1 hour. Featuring all Jr. High and High School Choral ensembles: JH Chorus & Jazz Choir, RHS Concert Choir, and Madrigals; the Fall Concert will showcase the vocal talents of our many outstanding and dedicated choral students. In addition, the RHS Spring theater production will finally be revealed at the conclusion of the concert! So come out and support the Rochester Choral Music Department!


ORANGE KRUSH SHIRT PICKUP INFO

Orange Krush Shirt Pickup will be TODAY, Wednesday, October 18 from 3:15-5:00 p.m. in the High School Commons.  


LETTERMAN JACKETS

FOOTBALL GAME - RHS @ SHG

The tickets for Friday, October 20 night's football game at SHG are $8.00 for Adults and $5.00 for Students/Seniors.  


WRESTLING MEETING

The Pre Season Wrestling Meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 24 at 5:00 p.m. in the HS Commons.  Practices start November 6.  Currently, there is open lifting and conditioning for High School Wrestlers on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in the RAC.  


GIRLS BASKETBALL PARENT MEETING

A Girls Basketball Parent Meeting will be held Wednesday, October 25 at 6:00 p.m. via Google Meet.  Please email Brandon Rose brose@rochester3a.net if you are interested.  Practices start October 30.  Check out the last Open Gym on October 24 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the RAC.  (Maybe in the MPR, watch for updates.)


SPANISH CLUB FUNDRAISER

The Spanish Club is currently having its Annual Cookie Dough Fundraiser! Orders can be placed with any Spanish Club Member, now through October 24. Checks can be made payable to “RHS Spanish Club”. If you have any questions, please see Srta. Miller or Sra Veenstra.


SPOOKY SEASON GAMES

Our Journalism students want to bring you fun this fall with a few games, so please join in to win lots of spooktacular prizes. Learn more about the game going on now in the High School at the Instagram Account: rocket_recap. Drawings will happen every Friday until October 31. Complete the challenges to get your name in the big drawing which will be done on October 31. 


PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES

Parent/Teacher Conferences for Rochester High School families will be held on Wednesday, November 1 from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Conferences will be held VIRTUALLY this fall. Parents should use their Skyward Family Access to schedule 15-minute virtual appointments with their student’s teachers that they would like to visit with through our video conferencing platform.  After scheduling your conference(s), parents will be sent a link by the teacher for each meeting via their email. ATTENTION THEATER PARTICIPANTS

Guess the Spring Show! Everyday a show option will be removed from the poster outside of the choir room until next Wednesday, October 18. Please make sure to come out to the Fall Concert on October 18 to hear the announcement of the Spring Show(s). Please make sure you fill out the Theatre Department Interest Form or email Ms. Geyston at sygeyston@rochester3a.net to be added to the Canvas Page. Audition Materials will be available for students interested after the announcement of the show on Wednesday.


MUSIC DEPARTMENT APPAREL SALE

The Rochester Music Department is hosting an Apparel Sale. This sale includes both band and choir options as well as “School of Music” and “Fine Arts Department” shirts. Items come in various styles and both adult and youth sizes are available on most designs. Orders will be taken until November 3. GALAPAGOS TRIP 2025

There is still room and time to sign up for the upcoming trip to the Galapagos and Ecuador. AUDIO ESSAY CONTEST

The Rochester VFW is sponsoring the Voice of Democracy audio essay contest.  Winners can receive scholarship monies at the local post, district, state, and national levels.  Please see Mr. Fitzgerald in Room 1135 for an entry form and more information.  Entries are due to Mr. Fitzgerald by October 31.  


FINANCIAL AID NIGHT

SENIORS: Financial Aid Night will be held on Wednesday, November 8 at 6:00 p.m. in the HS Fine Arts Auditorium.  


JOSTENS GRADUATION MATERIALS

PARKING

If you plan on driving a vehicle to school this year, you must fill out the parking survey and pay the parking fee.  If you have not already completed the survey, please do so ASAP, Rochester HS Parking Survey. Please make sure you are parking in the correct parking spot.  Also, all students that park in the back lot will be required to enter through the MPR doors.  Students should not be entering any of the other doors on the back side of the HS.  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Tucker in the Principal’s Office.


RHS PTO INFORMATION

You can make a donation at PayPal - (RHS PTO @rhsrocketspto) OR you can visit our Amazon Wish List at RHS PTO Wish List. The money collected helps buy supplies for the school and helps provide meals for Parent/Teacher conferences and treats during Teacher Appreciation Week. Any donation is greatly appreciated!

Please make sure that doctor’s notes are being brought to Mrs. Lessman in Student Services after the appointment.  

 

ATHLETICS & ACTIVITIES 

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENT

If your student plans to participate in one of our upcoming sports seasons, please visit RHS RSchool to register your athlete.  We will also need an updated physical on file.  Don’t forget to subscribe to “notify me” for your child’s sport, this allows you to get automatic notifications of any schedule changes. If you need to check your child’s physical date or have any questions about the registration process, please contact Kim Hauck at khauck@rochester3a.net.
