RYAA Cheer:

Registration is now open! Available Programs (ryaasports.org)

We will have a 3rd/4th grade squad and a 5th/6th grade squad. Please register based on grade entering for school year 23-24. We will have at least one squad per age group but, if there is enough interest and volunteer coaches, we can have an additional squad. Registration closes May 31st.

A kickoff meeting will be held at the beginning of June where measurements will be taken for uniforms.

An all-day camp will be held in June and practices will begin the week of July 10th. Practices will be twice a week and depend on the coach's schedules.

The squads will cheer at the Rochester JFL games which begin in the middle of August. We won't know the schedule until the first part of August. Games run through mid-October.

The registration cost covers camp, gym usage, insurance, and website costs. The uniform will be an additional $265 (approximately) due at the time of ordering. Last year's uniform design will be used and those who have outgrown their uniform will have them for purchase at our kickoff meeting. You can choose to purchase from last year's girls to help save money. The Bow to Toe package includes a shell, crop, skirt, briefs, warmups, shoes, poms, bow, bag, shirt, and shorts. Fundraising ideas are being developed to help reduce the cost.

If you have any questions, please reach out to  Cheer@RYAASports.org

**If you plan on picking up your children due to a double bus route, we ask that you pick them up at their own buildings. Please do not have them shuttle to the EC1 to be picked up here or they will be put on a bus and sent back to their building.  They should only be picked up at the EC1 building if they are current students.  We appreciate your help with this matter.

EXTRA CLOTHES:

Please send in an EXTRA OUTFIT for your child to keep at school. There are many times a child could need a change of clothes. It could be for a bloody nose, milk spill, if they fall in a puddle, or have an accident. We have a very LIMITED supply of extra clothes at the school. Besides, kids are much more comfortable in one of their own outfits. We try to avoid having to call a parent for a change of clothes when something occurs. Please help us by sending them in. We appreciate your help with this matter.

UPDATED STUDENT DIRECTORY:

If you are interested in participating in an updated Student Directory, please consider filling out the following Google Form for our PTO.

TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION:

Transportation Changes:

Parents may make up two choices for bus transportation. Examples: home and daycare. You will be asked to specify your two choices at the beginning of the year. We would also appreciate no transportation changes the first two weeks of school, as we are trying to finalize bus assignments and routes. Any special plans for after school which require a change in transportation, should involve a parent pick-up at school or the regularly scheduled drop-off spot. Students will not be allowed to have non-school transportation drops, such as riding home with another student, scout settings, piano lessons, tutoring lessons, etc. Students will be placed on the bus if no note of call has been received by 2:00pm. Students will not be dropped off if the bus driver does not see any sign of someone being home.

Parents are encouraged to send a note with their child the morning of a transportation change. For emergency purposes, transportation requests may be phoned in up to 2:00 pm. Parents who abuse the transportation system will be contacted by the administration and a letter will be sent home.

If you plan on picking up your child early, please call in advance so we can notify the classroom teacher and get the student to the gym. The end of the day gets very hectic with over 250 children going in different directions. Any help with this matter is greatly appreciated. Our top priority is making sure every student makes it home safely. Thank you in advance.

Parents may request a transportation change by phone prior to 2:00 pm. Please call 498-9778 (RES EC-1) or 498-6216 (RES 2-3).

Please see the RES Handbook on page #34-35 for policy updates on transportation.

 Double bus routes:

If you plan on picking up your children due to a double bus route, we ask that you pick them up at their own buildings. Please do not have them shuttle to the EC1 to be picked up here.  They should only be picked up at the EC1 building if they are current students.  We appreciate your help with this matter.

***PLEASE DIRECT ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING LATE BUSES TO THE BUS GARAGE. THEY CAN BE REACHED AT (217)498-9834.

  • Parents will not be allowed to enter the building.

  • All students enter the front of the building under the assistance of staff.

Just a reminder that the front doors do not open until 7:30am. If you could please keep your kids in the car until the front doors open, that would be greatly appreciated.

  • Reason for absence

If a child is marked absent by the classroom teacher and NO CONTACT from parents/guardians has been made prior to 9:00 a.m., office personnel will attempt to contact parents/guardians to determine the reason for an absence.

BY DOCTOR’S NOTE: If a student is absent due to a medical or dental appointment, he or she must return to school with a written excuse from the doctor or a member of the doctor’s staff that includes the date and time of the appointment and the time the student left the office.
