The safety of our students, faculty, and staff is our highest priority at Rochester Schools. I am writing to ask for your help. Over the past two days, three area high schools have been placed on school security lockdowns because of threatening notes left in their schools. This type of behavior causes a significant disruption to our schools, puts others including our first responders in harm’s way, and causes unwarranted fear.
Rochester CUSD #3a takes all threats seriously and does not consider these types of actions to be a joking matter. When a threat occurs, the District will investigate, we will find out, discipline will be issued, and charges will be filed when warranted.
Please have conversations with your children about these matters. By working together, we can provide a safe and protective learning environment for our schools and community.
